On Easter Sunday, my friend and I walked to Budapest's Ludwig Museum and I was quite dissappointed because I wasn't allowed to take pics.
But alongside the Museum is the National Theatre situated which has a very special and beautiful architecture. Between the Museum and the Theatre exists a small buliding which is the Gallery of the National Theatre. We walked inside and saw so many extravagant dresses and, best of all, I was allowed to take pics:)
Accidentally, we came across a photography-exhibition which was displayed on the street close to the American embassy.

Ein Besuch des Ludwig Museums in Budapest stand für Ostersonntag auf unserem Programm. Zuerst war ich etwas enttäuscht, da es verboten war, Fotos innerhalb des Museums zu machen.
Angrenzend an das Museum befindet sich das Nationaltheater was durch seine außergewöhnliche aber dennoch sehr ansprechende Architektur auffällt. Die Gallerie des Nationaltheaters hat uns von außen wie von innnen besonders begeistert! Zum Glück durfte ich dort fotografieren und kann euch deshalb die tollen Kostüme zeigen:)
Zufällig sahen wir später noch eine Fotografie-Ausstellung auf der Straße nähe der Amerikanischen Botschaft.

So, I'm back and here a some pics for you.
Budapest is a lovely city with great architecture. Its hilly landscape and the Danube make it a very scenic place to be.
Part 2 with cultural highlights and very extravagant clothes will follow soon...


Ich bin zurück aus dem Kurzurlaub und zeige euch ein paar Bilder von Budapest.
Die Stadt ist wirklich schön und hat eine beeindruckende Architektur. Die hügelige Landschaft und die Donau verleihen Budapest eine romantisch-gemütliche Atmosphäre.

EASTER VACATION

I'll be heading to Budapest tomorrow and I'm soooo looking forward to it!
Of course, I'll be taking lots of photos and share them here.
We haven't made a strict plan about what to see and where to go (we'll do that on the plane:) but our hotel lies next to the Hungarian National Museum so we will go there for sure. Culture & shopping sounds like a good program to me!

Die Ostertage werde ich in Budapest verbringen und bin schon ganz gespannt!
Natürlich werde ich viele Fotos machen und danach hier berichten.
Bisher haben wir noch nicht festgelegt, was wir genau anschauen wollen (dafür ist während des Fluges noch Zeit:) aber da unser Hotel direkt gegenüber des ungarische Nationalmuseums liegt, werden wir dort auf jeden Fall vorbei schauen. Kultur & Shopping...klingt super!

So here are some more pics from my trip to Andalusia.
The opulence and unearthly beauty of those moorish ornaments are hard to grasp (yes, I know that sounds kitschy but, nevertheless it's true). I love the cat sprayed on a wall in Granada. As I wrote before, the liberal atmosphere in Granada impressed me. And, of course, the Mesquita...unfortunately, the pics are not able to show the huge dimensions of this mosque.


Wie bereits angekündigt, zeige ich euch nun noch mehr Fotos von meiner Andalusienreise.
Die maurischen Ornamente sind so aufwändig und opulent gestaltet, dass man sich kaum vorstellen kann, dass sie von Menschenhand geschaffen wurden (ich weiß, da klingt kitschig, aber es ist wirklich so). Mir gefällt die auf eine Wand in Granada gesprühte Katze besonders gut. Wie ich schon im andere Andalusien-Post geschrieben habe, hat mich das liberale, studentische Flair von Granada sehr begeistert. Genauso wie natürlich die Mesquita, deren gigantische Ausmaße in den Fotos leider nicht zur Geltung kommen.

ANDALUSIA PART 1

A few weeks ago I went to Andalusia because I'm a huge fan of Moorish architecture (and tapas:). What should I say? It was so great! Our trip started in Màlaga. We went to Ronda, Cadiz, Jerez, Sevilla, Córdoba, Granada and Torremolinos. The mesquita of Córdoba was very impressive. But if I had to pick a favourite place it would be Granada. The city's atmosphere is very liberal and vital (many students live there) and of course the Alhambra is just mind-boggling. I'll post more pics later on.

Vor wenigen Wochen war ich in Andalusien, weil ich mich sehr für Maurische Architektur (und Tapas:) interessiere. Was soll ich sagen? Es war phantastisch! Unsere Reiseroute startete in Málaga, führte dann über Ronda und Cadiz nach Jerez und weiter nach Sevilla, Córdoba und Granada und unseren letzten Tag verbrachten wir am Meer in Torremolinos. Die mesquita von Córdoba war sehr beeindruckend. Aber wenn ich einen Favoriten nennen müsste, wäre das wohl Granada, da die Atmosphäre dieser Stadt einfach toll ist. Sehr liberal und lebendig (viele Studenten leben dort) und die Alhambra ist sowieso großartig.
