On Easter Sunday, my friend and I walked to Budapest's Ludwig Museum and I was quite dissappointed because I wasn't allowed to take pics.
But alongside the Museum is the National Theatre situated which has a very special and beautiful architecture. Between the Museum and the Theatre exists a small buliding which is the Gallery of the National Theatre. We walked inside and saw so many extravagant dresses and, best of all, I was allowed to take pics:)
Accidentally, we came across a photography-exhibition which was displayed on the street close to the American embassy.

Ein Besuch des Ludwig Museums in Budapest stand für Ostersonntag auf unserem Programm. Zuerst war ich etwas enttäuscht, da es verboten war, Fotos innerhalb des Museums zu machen.
Angrenzend an das Museum befindet sich das Nationaltheater was durch seine außergewöhnliche aber dennoch sehr ansprechende Architektur auffällt. Die Gallerie des Nationaltheaters hat uns von außen wie von innnen besonders begeistert! Zum Glück durfte ich dort fotografieren und kann euch deshalb die tollen Kostüme zeigen:)
Zufällig sahen wir später noch eine Fotografie-Ausstellung auf der Straße nähe der Amerikanischen Botschaft.

So, I'm back and here a some pics for you.
Budapest is a lovely city with great architecture. Its hilly landscape and the Danube make it a very scenic place to be.
Part 2 with cultural highlights and very extravagant clothes will follow soon...

Die Stadt ist wirklich schön und hat eine beeindruckende Architektur. Die hügelige Landschaft und die Donau verleihen Budapest eine romantisch-gemütliche Atmosphäre.

I'll be heading to Budapest tomorrow and I'm soooo looking forward to it!
Of course, I'll be taking lots of photos and share them here.
We haven't made a strict plan about what to see and where to go (we'll do that on the plane:) but our hotel lies next to the Hungarian National Museum so we will go there for sure. Culture & shopping sounds like a good program to me!

Die Ostertage werde ich in Budapest verbringen und bin schon ganz gespannt!
Natürlich werde ich viele Fotos machen und danach hier berichten.
Bisher haben wir noch nicht festgelegt, was wir genau anschauen wollen (dafür ist während des Fluges noch Zeit:) aber da unser Hotel direkt gegenüber des ungarische Nationalmuseums liegt, werden wir dort auf jeden Fall vorbei schauen. Kultur & Shopping...klingt super!

I came across this Jimmy Choo bag and its print seemed quite familiar to me. It shows a painting by Richard Phillip (I blogged about this artist a few month ago). Even though I like Phillips work, I'm not sure about the bag...it just looks boring. What do you think?


Vor kurzem sah ich diese Jimmy Choo Tasche im Internet und ihr Druck kam mir direkt bekannt vor. Kein Wunder, da es sich dabei um ein Bild des Künstlers Richard Phillip handelt, über den ich vor wenigen Monaten bereits geschrieben habe. Obwohl ich seine Arbeiten mag, kann ich mich mit dieser Tasche nicht nicht anfreunden...sie wirkt irgendwie langweilig. Was meint ihr?

Although it's very rainy today, I'm still musing about spring dresses. Inspired by the painting from Rebecca Campbell I tried to create some outfits with wavy light summer dresses. I'm not sure about the practicability of white/fair clothes and accessories in general but they are nice to look at.

Obwohl es heute mal wieder regnet beschäftige ich mich in Gedanken mit luftig-leichten Frühlingskleidern. Inspiriert durch das Bild von Rebecca Campbell habe ich ein paar Outfits zusammen gestellt bei denen wallende Sommerkleider in hellen Farben im Mittelpunkt stehen. Leider sind helle Kleidung und Accessoiries nicht umbedingt praktisch und alltagstauglich, aber doch immerhin schön zum anschauen.

Today, I'll introduce another great online shop with a very inventive name: "I saved Laurence".
This brand was founded by a guy called Laurence (surprise! surprise!) who studied fashion design and now creates "printed upscale streetwear" which looks very fun and cute!
For you lucky guys living in the UK: Go, visit his shop in London, Portobello Road! The rest of us is glad to hear that Laurence ships internationally:)


Heute stelle ich euch mal wieder einen schönen Online Shop vor, der auch noch einen besonders originellen Namen hat, nämlich: "I saved Laurence". Dieses Label wurde von Laurence (wer hätte das gedacht?) gegründet, der zuvor Modedesign studiert hat und nun "printed upscale streetwear" kreiert, welche sehr fröhlich aussieht! Die glücklichen unter euch, die in Großbritannien wohnen sollten seinen Londoner Shop in der Portobello Road aufsuchen! Der Rest von uns freut sich, dass Laurence seine Kleidung auch international verschickt:)

FAVORITE SPRING STYLES

It didn't rain the past few days,
our heating is broken-down and heats constantly (= summerlike temperatures in our living-room),
I heard some birds singing the other day,
the trees in our street carry pink blossoms (see first pic),
...no wonder, I'm in the mood for spring! In the collages above you can see what I'll wear this spring:
- bold colours (especially yellow and blue) and colour combinations
- romantic and playful clothes (with flower patterns)
- printed shirts.


Es hat seit mindestens 3 Tagen nicht geregnet,
unsere Heizung ist kaputt und heizt ununterbrochen (= Sommertemperaturen im Wohnzimmer),
ab und zu höre ich Vogelgezwitscher,
die Bäum in unserer Straße tragen rosa Blüten (siehe 1. Bild)
...kein Wunder, dass ich in Frühlingsstimmung bin! In den Kollagen seht ihr, was ich im Frühling tragen werde/möchte:
- bunte (Primär-) Farben (insbesondere Gelb und Blau) und Farbkombinationen
- romantische und verspielte Outfits (gern auch mit Blumenmuster)
- bedruckte Shirts.
